My hot muumuu for the $5 prom (I won for the cheapest outfit).  Posted by Hello

Summer fun

Where to begin….I have now been in Tahoe for two weeks and have been enjoying everything tremendously. We now have a regular weekly schedule which is really helping me adjust to my early morning job. Everyone works daily at a variety of occupations around town. I am working at Don’s Bakeshop starting at 4 a.m. (early!) and ending around noon (though I frequently stay later). Monday we have our weekly meeting. Tuesday is our life group meeting where we go over our study on Philippians. I really enjoy my life group because I am really connecting with the other girls and we have such deep and meaningful conversations. Wednesday is our night of reflection. This gives us a chance to maybe catch up on our Bible study, pray, reflect on the week, and have some personal quiet time. Thursday we have ministry training. Friday is free night to have some general fun. Saturday morning is still a time to work (as I do). In the afternoon we may have an outreach (like a carwash) and night is a project social (like the $5 prom--see picture below). Sunday of course we go to church (I am going to Calvary Chapel) and if we didn’t have an outreach Saturday, we will have one in the afternoon.

What a blast (except for the 4 a.m. part). What is everyone else doing?

LTSP

So I have been in tahoe for about a week now. It is going to be a fun summer. All the folks down here are really fun. I start work tomorrow at 4:00 a.m.! It will be early, but it should be a fun job. Today I just did my laundry and then thought I should check my e-mail. There is this great little coffee shop not far from our cabins with wireless internet (free if you buy something!). I am living in this tiny cabin with 2 other girls. The bed is 3 high, floor space is minimum, and the bathroom is small (at least we have one though). The weather is nice...warmish during the day and cold at night. The last few days we have been busy just getting going, but now we are getting into more of a routine. During the free time that we have we have gone for swims in the freezing cold lake, gone for bike rides, or just cruzed the town. Tahoe is kinda hippies ville...not many places take visa and if they do there is a minimum amount! I am also going broke buying food (darn the necessitys of life!).

So how is everyone doing now that ya'all are out of school?

Exciting Nights

Being back in Yakima there is not a lot of exciting things to do or a lot of people to have fun with. Thank goodness Hannah and Jenna are here. Last night we were at Grothe's house and could not decide what to do. Finally we decided to go on a drive. After we stopped at my house so I could get my camera, sweatshirt, and movies to return, we ventured into town for a few stops. From there we dicided to drive out to Naches. Why? We don't know. Then decided to drive out to East Valley and go to walmart. We had a chinese fire drill on the way. Do you know that walmart is open 24 hours a day everyday! Neither did we. We were thinking what we could do that would be funny so we ended up buying 3 cute, little goldfish for Judson (dont tell him that it was us). We then broke into church to leave them on his desk so he would find them this morning. By the time we got back to Jenna's house it was midnight so I went home and went to bed.

Today is full of events too. I am going to lunch and a movie with Carrie and my mom. I might be babysitting this evening and then going to get appitizers with Hannah and Jenna at applebee's after 9. I am also trying to pack. I hate packing!

I would write more, but Andy forgot his math book so I need to take it to him!
Bye

Something interesting

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You'd like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance.
Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?
